Life can sometimes move at a breakneck speed and other times it is more like a trickle. Measured in drops rather than currents.
Then there is the intermittent moment, the pause. Those moments where we are incubated and held tightly at the centre of the cyclone. All is calm as new adventures start to bubble to the surface.
In the pause, we have the opportunity to reflect, to contemplate and to plan. And yet, the pause can feel quite restrictive – like we’re in a rut.
But Life will move again, though not before its time. Just as with the scab on a wound, Life waits until such a time as we are ready for the new layer to be revealed. The new phase.
When that moment comes it can be frightening and exhilarating. Frightening because we are now like a child learning to ride a bike. Will we fall? Will we get hurt? Can we go it alone?
We also feel exhilaration because the pause is over. We grasp our newfound freedom. We revel in the upcoming opportunity.
The pause is our greatest learning period as we reflect and contemplate that which has happened and prepare for that which is to come.
